Donate Joy: How our school giving program is evolving

What is Donate Joy?

Donate Joy is Double Good's popcorn donation program. When you shop with us, you can buy a popcorn donation along with your order or in place of it. We send that popcorn to schools in all 50 states as a thank-you for the work they do for kids every day.

So when you support a fundraiser, you can help the group reach its goal and send something special to educators at the same time.

What should I tell supporters when I promote my fundraiser?

When promoting your fundraiser, share what you’re raising money for and how the funds will help. Let supporters know they can participate by purchasing popcorn or making a Donate Joy contribution.

What tips do you have to get more support for my Pop-Up Store, including mentioning Donate Joy?

Mention the Donate Joy option for supporters who want to help but do not want popcorn or cannot have popcorn. Supporters often get the best value when they purchase 3 or more bags of one flavor or choose a Curated Collection.

Shipping Costs and Responsibility — who pays for shipping and how much does it cost across Double Good fundraiser types?

“Donate Joy” (digital contribution) does not include physical items, so there’s no shipping charge. If you purchase a popcorn donation, you won’t pay shipping on top of your contribution.

Can I nominate a school for Donate Joy, and how has the selection process changed?

We’re no longer accepting nominations, but we’re still donating popcorn to schools! Our team now hand-selects schools as we work to reach more communities and spread the joy even further.

Why did the process change?

Our mission to support educators and students remains as strong as ever. By hand-selecting schools, we can use regional data to help identify and reach schools in underserved areas that may not have been nominated before. We’re grateful to everyone who nominated a school in the past—your input helped lay the foundation for this program.

A package arrived at my school addressed to someone I don’t know. What should I do?

The package may have been sent to your school as a Donate Joy gift. If it contains Double Good popcorn, there’s no balance due. If you’re unsure whether it was intended for your school, please contact us and share the shipping label details so we can help.
